Compass Student Invited to Participate in Public Deliberation

← Back to Compass Stories

Compass student, Chloe B., hasn’t let the pandemic slow her down! In addition to winning science fair awards earlier this semester with her colleague Leilani D., she has also been working on supporting and promoting intergenerational conversations in Fort Collins by presenting to the City’s Senior Advisory Board and at the Fort Collins Intergenerational Conversations event. Her initiative, hard work, and effective communication have not gone unnoticed.

In addition to being invited to speak again to the city’s Senior Advisory Board by Larimer County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally, she is also being invited to become a “Liaison to the Intergenerational Dialogues” as part of the CSU’s Center for Public Deliberation. One of the honors of this invitation is that it includes invaluable CSU facilitation training taught directly by the Director of CSU’s Center for Public Deliberation, Professor Martin Carcasson. This world renowned educational program will take Chloe’s skills to the next level and will allow her to continue to build her social capital and resume/transcript as she continues to make the most of her Compass high school experience. We are so proud of you, Chloe!
